About Me:

Justin Stanley is an accomplished young horn player and music educator, He performs regularly with chamber ensembles and orchestras in New England, including his own Wenham Street Brass. He also has considerable experience as a brass teacher, music education researcher, and outreach clinician.

Justin began the A Street Music Education blog in 2010 as the company’s education director, focusing on the ability of music education to transfer to students’ learning in other disciplines, both academic and socio-emotional. Having earned a certificate in Music-in-Education from the New England Conservatory and worked as a research assistant for the Center for Music-in-Education, Justin feels that creating art through music is beneficial for any person’s all-around growth.

Justin has performed extensively with chamber musicians since 2004. He currently performs around New England and with the Wenham Street Brass as a founding member and the musical director. Justin has also performed with Boston’s Kammerwerke, the Bay Colony Brass, and on behalf of American Century Music.  Outside of chamber music, Mr. Stanley has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, the Mercury Orchestra, the New Philharmonia, and numerous musical productions. He has performed at notable locations such as Carnegie Hall, New York’s Riverside Church, NYU’s Skirball Center, and NEC’s Jordan Hall.

Justin received a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from New York University and a Masters in Horn Performance with a Music-in-Education concentration from New England Conservatory in 2010. Outside of performing and teaching, Justin assistant produced multiple concerts on the “Playing for the Planet” series in Boston, represents classical artists in the Boston area, and fosters shelter dogs.

About A Street Music

A Street Music existed as a storefront in Quincy, MA from 2010-2013, and was run by Aaron Belyea and Justin Stanley. We offered affordable music lessons, instrument instrument repairs, instrument rentals, and retail items. This blog was, until summer 2013, all about A Street Music’s education program, including our student and faculty concerts, outreach programs, summer camps, lessons, and scholarships. Unfortunately, Aaron and Justin had to close the storefront to focus on other musical endeavors. You can still find Aaron for musical instrument repairs on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AStreetMusicMA. I can attest that Aaron is an incredible craftsman!
