A Street Music Concert and Upcoming Events

Hello blog readers! I do apologize profusely for not updating this blog in a while. Lots of fun things have been happening lately around A Street Music. We welcomed two new employees, Noel and Drew, to help out at the store. If you’re a regular customer or student here, you’ve probably already met them. My brass trio, which performs regularly on behalf of A Street, started a project called the Art of Brass. You can find out more about that project at www.indiegogo.com/the-art-of-brass. There’s plenty of instruments currently in the store for sale or rent, including a whole slew of guitars, not one but two playing condition tubas, woodwinds, brass instruments, and keyboards. We’ve got lots of new students learning music here, and many of them will be performing alone and with our faculty on November 19, 2011 at Keep it Moving Studio. We’d love to see you there!

For me, the most exciting happening for the education program here is our recent sponsorship by Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. You can find out more about our partnership with Fractured Atlas at our project page. What the partnership means is that we can apply for grants and receive individual, foundation, and corporate donations, all for the purpose of providing cheap and free instruments, lessons, and community outreach to individuals throughout Quincy. I’m sure you’ll be hearing from me about this more in the future.

For now, however, I want to move on to informing you about our events and events coming up for our faculty this month. We hope to see you around town throughout November!
