Fundraising for Free Music Education

Hi blog readers,

I’m writing today to introduce our Spring fundraiser. We’re taking monetary donations and donations of instruments in order to offer free services through our education department. Read more below!

Donations in the form of money or musical instruments will be used to create a free music class and musical outreach series, as well as sponsor students for free private lessons. Please join us in making Quincy a more musical place! A Street Music Education is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of A Street Music Education must be made payable to Fractured Atlas (with “A Street Music Education” on the memo line) and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

If the donor received nothing in return for the donation of goods or money, they will receive a receipt reading: “In compliance with section 170(f)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code, Fractured Atlas Productions, Inc. hereby confirms that, to the best of our knowledge, you received no goods or services in exchange for your contribution.”

Our ongoing mission

1)    To provide students with tools to become musical artists and scholars, by addressing fundamentals inherent in musical engagement in ways that encourage students to assess their own progress and reflect on their growing musical personae.

2)    To enrich Quincy, the lively community in which A Street Music is proud to be a resident, with community outreach performances by our faculty and students.

3)    To foster a culture of musical and social collaboration among our students, to provide our students with opportunities to perform, and to provide Quincy with a center to discuss and become involved in music.

Donate online or mail a check to A Street Music, 1434 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02130. The check should written out to Fractured Atlas with “A Street Music Education” in the memo line.
